MDS Pharma Services has developed a number of assay packages to screen broadly for new leads or to profile compounds of interest. In most instances, relevant secondary functional pharmacology assays are included and automatically conducted when activity is observed in primary screens. Assay packages have been developed for compound selection, compound characterization, compound evaluation, therapeutic area profiling and custom packages.
Compound Selection
Compound selection packages detect potential moderate-to-serious adverse reactions and/or unexpected activity resulting from inhibition of one or more of 30 enzymes. These packages may be used to further prioritize "hits" and/or "lead" candidates for further development.

Compound Characterization
DrugMatrixScreen is a compound characterization package that offers a diverse assay panel, including 125 targets, designed to provide medical relevance and predictive value. The panel includes a breadth of receptors and enzyme classes that will help evaluate selectivity and potency of compounds for specific assay targets and predict their potential for contributing to adverse events or provide data suggestive of alternative therapeutic applications. The assay panel is also designed to provide a broad data set useful for predictive SAR and chemogenomics database applications.

Compound Evaluation
Compound evaluation assay packages extend in vitro functional and in vivo efficacy results to detect important expected and/or unexpected therapeutic activities. Results obtained from this group of assays may serve to priorize compounds of interest for further early and/or late-stage development.
|
Therapeutic Area
Therapeutic area profiling packages detect activity in a number of important immunological and inflammatory targets, 48 primary receptor and enzyme assays with automatic functional, secondary tests.
